Curious Life Counseling currently offers virtual telehealth sessions in the states of North Carolina and Florida. Connect your next therapy session through our HIPAA compliant video communication option.
Our experience enables us to offer effective outpatient, individualized, psychological care. We treat mental health and wellness for the whole person. We provide a trusting, safe space to individuals, families, and couples struggling with grief and loss, transition/change, sexual abuse, divorce, addiction, with NPE (not expected parent) DNA surprise, military, and trauma. We are a Veteran-owned business. We are an all-inclusive practice that celebrates one love, which embraces the human experience of diversity, unity, and acceptance for all.
Our focus areas are addiction, Veterans, integrative health for mental health, sexual abuse, life transitions, and NPE (not parent expected) surprise from DNA genetic testing. We strive to assist individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We provide options including mental health counseling, journaling sessions, and phone coaching. We achieve results with therapy by providing a person-centered approach, a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan.
We support the patient holistically with every step of your mental health journey. Our goal is to partner alongside you to provide an integrative therapeutic approach incorporating skills, and self-care options that facilitate growth and well-being. Curious Life Counseling believes without practice there can be no change. From your current struggles, therapy assist you to heal from emotional pain, manage symptoms, and move forward towards improved life management skills.
Offering mental health counseling, journaling sessions, and life coaching
I have spent my life developing skills to help others. I am a licensed mental health counselor with a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling. I specialize as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) through the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board. I am currently a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida, and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)in North Carolina. I have completed training through the Center for Journal Therapy as a Journal to the Self Instructor. Additionally, I am a Certified NLP Life Coach through the Academy of Leadership Coaching and NLP. I proudly served in The United States Navy. I am also a devoted wife and mother to three children.
I consider myself a life-long learner who is creative, introspective, curious, and compassionate. My professional background has equipped me with solid practical skills combined with a deep understanding of people's needs. I have worked with diverse populations struggling with substance use disorders and mental health issues including trauma and grief. I incorporate an eclectic approach, implement evidence-based practices including cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral methods, neuroscience, and holistic modalities such as integrative health, expressive arts including journaling, and life coaching strategies. I am ready to grow alongside you through a collaborative, holistic approach utilizing integrity, curiosity, dedication, and a strong desire to build a trusting, healing partnership.

Approximately 2-4% of genetic testing results in NPE (not expected parent or non-paternity event) results. NPE occurs when one or both parents are not genetically related in the parent/child relationship. Curious Life Counseling will assist to process the surprise, trauma, grief, as well as navigate gently surrounding identity, forgiveness, interpersonal relationships, and recovering from the unexpected news.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and evidence-based treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. Therapy can help you overcome these symptoms towards post-traumatic growth; mental health matters and we guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Relationship therapy counseling can be beneficial for those who are looking to strengthen their mental health and emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with families and couples in a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.

One-on-one virtual services
45 minute guided journaling session based on the work of Kathleen Adams and the Center for Journal Therapy
30 minute phone coaching session
